The Paul Revere legacy

Paul Revere, the legendary American patriot famous for his midnight ride in 1775, was also a master silversmith and metalworker. His expertise in working with precious metals laid the foundation for what would become one of America's most trusted cookware brands.

In 1801, Paul Revere founded the Revere Copper Company in Canton, Massachusetts. The company quickly became renowned for its superior copper rolling and brass manufacturing capabilities. Revere pioneered techniques for rolling copper into sheets, a process that proved invaluable for early American industry, from shipbuilding to architecture.

Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, Revere Copper and Brass Inc. continued to innovate in metalworking, earning a reputation for quality and reliability. This dedication to excellence in metallurgy would eventually lead to one of the most significant innovations in cookware history.

Revolutionary copper-clad technology that changed cookware forever

The 1939 revolution

In 1939, Revere Copper and Brass Inc. introduced a groundbreaking innovation that would transform home cooking forever: copper-clad stainless steel cookware. This revolutionary product combined the superior heat conductivity of copper with the durability and ease of maintenance of stainless steel.

The patented electroplating process bonded a thick layer of pure copper directly to the bottom of high-grade 18/8 stainless steel. Unlike other cookware of the era, Revere Cookware eliminated hot spots and provided even heat distribution, allowing home cooks to achieve restaurant-quality results.

The introduction of the iconic Bakelite pistol-grip handles was another stroke of genius. These ergonomically designed handles stayed cool during cooking, making Revere Cookware safer and more comfortable to use than traditional cookware with metal handles.

The distinctive mirror-polished finish became instantly recognizable in American kitchens. By the 1950s and 1960s, Revere Cookware had become a staple wedding gift and a symbol of quality domestic life, trusted by millions of families across the nation.

Craftsmanship in every detail

Creating Revere Cookware requires precision, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Each piece undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure it meets the exacting standards that have defined our brand for over 85 years.

Our electroplating process, developed in 1939 and refined over decades, bonds copper to stainless steel at the molecular level. This creates a permanent union that will never separate or delaminate, even under the most demanding cooking conditions. The mirror-polished finish is achieved through multiple stages of buffing and polishing, creating the lustrous appearance that has become our signature.

The iconic Bakelite handles are carefully molded and attached with precision to ensure they stay cool and comfortable during cooking. Every pour spout is hand-finished to ensure drip-free service. These details matter because we know that great cooking requires great tools.
